Boeing ramps up political donations amid mounting scrutiny
Boeing, the US aerospace titan, has escalated its political spending during a period of heightened public and regulatory scrutiny, federal records reveal. In the first five months of 2025, Boeing’s federal political action committee (PAC) distributed nearly $1 million to almost 300 political committees, according to an article in Skift.
The beneficiaries include dozens of congressional campaigns, leadership PACs, and major party committees across the spectrum, such as the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Maximum PAC contributions of $5,000 have already reached figures like House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.), and Sen. Patty Murray’s (D-Wash.) M-PAC. State-level contributions rose, too—Boeing gave $50,000 each to the Democratic Governors Association, Republican Governors Association, and Republican State Leadership Committee in May alone.
This surge comes as Boeing faces renewed criticism over its safety culture, following incidents like the recent Air India 787 crash and ongoing federal investigations. Boeing has consistently spent at least $11.9 million yearly on federal lobbying since 2008, highlighting its sustained influence efforts.
