GSA has awarded a five-year BPA to Uber Technologies, Inc., to help federal agencies manage travel and transportation expenses. Announced 16 July 2025, the governmentwide contract is part of GSA’s OneGov strategy to provide cost-effective, commercial solutions for federal operations worldwide.

Under the new BPA, all federal civilian and defense employees, contractors, veterans, and mission-related personnel can access Uber for both CONUS and OCONUS rideshares. The move supports a range of travel scenarios, from temporary duty (TDY) assignments to mission support and shuttle replacement, aligning with the April 2025 Executive Order that prioritizes competitive marketplace solutions and commercial innovation.

Uber for Business brings new features, including business profiles for accountability, enhanced reporting dashboards, and data insights to help agencies safeguard against fraud and abuse. The agreement introduces high-capacity vehicles and enables rides for fixed office routes and emergency response scenarios—an operational boost for disaster relief and healthcare mission needs.

GSA’s negotiated contract promises discounted rates, no agency fees, and added rebates through the SmartPay travel card. Automated billing, digital receipts, and streamlined onboarding further reduce administrative costs and time spent managing travel logistics. The BPA extends to government contractors with federal approval, offering uniform benefits and simplifying compliance.

“GSA’s agreement with Uber exemplifies our commitment to provide efficient and cost-effective solutions to our agency partners,” said acting administrator Stephen Ehikian.
